High
quality cost effective rapid prototype models.
Computer generated solid
models rotated on the screen, photo realistic rendered scenes
and
drawings all go a long way to letting you visualise what your product
will look like in real life but nothing can totally replace having it
there in your hand.
We are agents for a
leading rapid prototype parts supplier, who can
supply either through ourselves or direct; quality FDM, SLS or SLA
models at
very competitive prices.
SLA models are ideal
when
producing complex geometry or for casting masters where any
imperfections in the master will be present in the generated mould.
Thin wall sections, fine detail, legend and small holes may all feature
in SLA models. A large range of different materials are available for
the SLS process with the ability to even produce models that are water
clear when polished.
SLS models in PA
material are very
robust and can even replicate live hinges. Multiple small parts can be
produced extremely cost effectively with the SLA process as
they
can be fitted into all available spaces in the machine envelope and
produced in one batch run.
A functional FDM model in ABS
plastic is possibly the cheapest way of
producing medium sized models although the step-over and
resolution are not as fine as SLS or SLA they can be very
useful
for assessing the look and feel of an item 'in the hand'. The
models can also be sanded and spray painted to improve the
finish.
Looking for investment in your
product?
Most
investors will normally
want to see a working prototype of your product before even considering
investing. This is not always the case but it can mean the difference
between success and disappointment.
Is your product too big for these
types of prototyping?
Although
the methods of producing prototypes mentioned above are ideal to create
representations of small to medium size parts, costs can rise
rapidly if the part required is large as it may need to be made in
several pieces and bonded together.
It is then
worth considering
other approaches such as: A scale model, a CNC machined model from, for
example, fibreboard or even a machined or fabricated wood mould laid up
with fibreglass. There are numerous possibilities - get in touch and we
can give you advise on the best approach for your part.
